Being Original

So here I am after a break, but felt like a 'word vomit' so here I am to spill my guts - eh get it, spill? Word Vomit!? - Wow! Now I feel queasy :/ Anyway. For today, I chose the topic 'Being Original' - I don't know if it has anything to do with Mike Posner's 'Cooler Than Me' playing in the background. or not. Cooler Than Me!

Well the song is groovy! Coming back to point. BEING ORIGINAL? Why be original? What is being original? How do you know what you are 'originally'? How do you know you arent faking out? So many question and so very complicated.

I just understand one thing and that's very simple. 'Justifying your actions' - please this has no relations to religious point of views or anything. I am just generally making an observation. If I like to wear red lip color, I shouldn't have to 'justify' how bold the look is, if I want to listen to Coke Studio stuff its not because its so current and everybody is listening to it, if I don't want to talk to you its because I don't want to not because the 'peer pressure' is on and I have to own up the leader of the pack!? - I guess I am totally confusing you and not making any sense at all.

Simple put - don't do thing just to be in the 'it' crowd. Believe me it gets tiring. Soon you realize you have a low tolerance level, your comfort for thing you used to like is gone and sooner or later you are somebody you don't know. Either altogether avoid people you don't share interests if you are easy to influence or grow a backbone, try new things and filter out the stuff you dont like. For as long as I know people call me 'aggressive' 'too up front' 'too blunt' - cause I call them on their shit. I have always done it and in a way it relieves me of the duty to kiss up to them for the rest of time they'd be hanging around my life. Its a favor to both of us! How? - they know what to expect of me, I know what to expect of them. Also I have a low tolerance with people who are pretending, double meanings, manipulation - dude/dudette I don't have time for your games! Nobody does.

Being Original You - is necessary! maybe not when you are a teen and easily warped into the teeny bopper idols fascination but maybe in college or maybe later because if you want to truly enjoy life you have to let your guards down, you have to let go and you have to truly surrender to something bigger then yourself to experience happiness.

Being Original is so freeing, you don't have to bow down to anarchy of social norms or the figurative leader of your social pack, your time is your time. Be a little non-conformist, break out the mold.

To be a rebel - you don't have to be cool, you have to be original.

My Top 10 Favorite Tv Show Couples!

Oh yes I have loads of time to waste and the perfect way to do so is blog a list and yes I admit this is a cheesy one but whatever :D Lists are cool. (plus am waiting for CSI NY to torrent download ... so here goes nothing)

10. Agent Mulder n Scully (X-files)

Need I say more here? :D Scully n Mulder! Spend my young childhood fascinated by X-files n these two agents.

9. Janey n Billy (Jane By Design)

These two are fairly new on the horizon as the show 'Jane By Design' just completed its first volume of first season recently. Whats so special about them and why they work on screen? Jane n Billy are childhood best friends. Their chemistry, friendship, highschool and crazy whirlwind world of fashion keeps them on their toes quitenicely in the show. The funny thing is they aren't together together :D - thats TV show for you. The 10th episode ended on Billy spilling his guts to Janey and Janey being torn between two guys... lets see if anything does happen for them and the twist is Janey's frenemy has hots for Billy - Oolala!

8. Caleb n Hannah (Pretty Little Liars)

Caleb n Hannah are my favorite couple on PPL!! They make more sense then any of the other ones on the show. Why they work!? Because they are always busy saving each other.

7. Booth n Brennan (BONES)

From Season 1 to Season 5 their chemistry was something to salute to .. seriously! But however them coming together at the end of Season 6 was pretty much very anticlimax and spoiled the show for me.. still they are so awkward together that it will make you laugh. He calls her 'Bones'

6. Cappie n Cassie (Greek)

Greek will remain my ever favorite college tv show! It was awesome! If u haven't seen it u are missing out on a great show.

Cassie: "So umm... where to?"
Cappie: "Wherever you are going"

(Last Dialog from the Last Episode of Greek)

5. Sheldon n Amy (The Big Bang Theory)

Nothing can make you laugh like these two can! Why are they perfect together? Because they both are neurotic crazy geniuses who call each other on their exact wierdness and who still some how manage to look good together because they make sense! Haha the 'Shamy' keeps Big Bang Theory awesome! Nerd Love <3! and also then there is the 'Relationship Agreement' to consider.

4. Barney n Robin (How I Met Your Mother)

Okay yes I know they aren't together.. but they kinda were in Season 4/5 and Barney n Robin is definitely >>>>>>>>> than Robin n Ted! Why does it work? Very simple! Both of them (Barney n Robin) are totally emotionally unavailable people who are afraid of commitment and avoid the sentimental stuff. They make a whole lot of sense together. I have my fingers crossed for them! ..... oh yes.. 'Wait for it........' :P *up top*

3. Phil and Claire Dunphy (Modern Family)

The moment I saw Modern Family, the Dunphies became my favorite! Claire is totally neurotic control freak and a mother of three where as Phil is the gadget moron Dad who is a total dreamer. Why do they work together? They do because Phil is the dreamer and Claire is the realist, Phil is laidback chill out where is Claire is serious and tightly wound. They say opposite attract! Dunphies are definately an example of one of them.

2. Monica n Chandler (F.R.I.E.N.D.S)

:D :D :D :D - oh whoever has seen FRIENDS can never get enough of Chandler and Monica!

1. Danny n Linsey Messer / Dantana for Fans :D (CSI Newyork)

Initially as Linsey Monroe and later Danny's wife. Linsey Monroe was this new addition to the CSI New York in Season 2. She is a tough country girl crime lab investigator and is awesomely brave enough to even eat beetles (which Danny places $100 bet she wouldn't) where as Danny Messer is this passionate aggressive bad boy who mended his way and became a forensic scientist. Why do they work together? - Because they are so alike yet so different at the same time. Their chemistry was one thing that instantly got me hooked to the show and the tv show has done a stellar job on keeping your guessing on it. Oh n there is a 'bundle' of joy in the show too :p

(Linsey lost staring at a diamond necklace on a crime scene)
Danny: Don't even think about it, Montanna!
Linsey: *chuckles* This necklace is worth more than what I make in an year.
Danny: What so special about diamonds? Its just an allotrope of carbon!
Linsey: Spoken like a true romantic.

Half Baked TV Shows

I have been wanting to write this list for a long time now. When I say 'Half-Baked' I mean tv shows that have the potential to be WOW but fail to make that impact even though they have a killer production level.

So here goes:

1: Blue Bloods

'Blue Bloods' is a show centered on a life of a family of cops. It revolves around ethics, morale, principality issues about New York, but the cases are 'too easy to solve' and stuff about New York isn't incorporated much.

Full-Baked Comparison : CSI-Newyork - (On a side note I think Don Fleck is seriously cute!)

2: Castle

This show is half baked cop show n full baked chemistry, in a good way. It sells completely on the leads' chemistry which is quite excellently pulled off, again the cases fail to make an impact because they are too easy to predict. 15 minutes into an episode and I can tell who the killer would be.

Full-Baked Comparison: BONES.

3: SUITS n Franklin & Bash

These both shows make my summer! They do indeed. They are hilarious .. atleast Franklin&Bash is more funny than SUITS, but SUITS has Harvey Spectar and thats what makes the difference. Its half-baked drama n half-baked comedy with super super HALF-baked Law. Where are the good law cases? Isn't this suppose to be a Law Show?

Full-Baked Comparison: Boston Legal (Drama Law), Ally McBeal (Comedy Law)

4. White Collar

When I started watching this show I became an instant fan. Be it Matt Bomer's fine fine FINE suitings or the romance of paintings involved in this show.. I was a total sucker for it. But after one season I was like.. where is this show going? The show is about a con-man who starts working for FBI White Collar Division. This show is sitting on a goldmine. People love to watch con artistry, heist and stuff, its romance for the underdogs! but the show doesnt explore the con side of this story much and the cases are very tepid.

Full-Baked Comparison: Ocean's 11, 12, 13!

5. The Finder

Finder just recently started, the pilot which spin-offed in the series of Bones but once the show started it lacked the 'oommph' Why? - The show is based on the 'Locator' series books and is about a veteran whose brain is wired in such way that he can find just about anything. He is the locator. The Show should and could explore all the treasure hunting aspects but it doesnt.

Full-Baked Comparison: Relic Hunter.

These are 3 of my favorite picks from my alternate/bluegrass playlist.

1. AWOLNATION - GUILTY FILTHY SOUL

2. IMA ROBOT - GREENBACK BOGGIE (Soundtrack of 'SUITS')

The Call

There is a siren wailing,
A shout, a scream, a signal, a sign
Being blind to it, something never heard before
Its like a silence ringing through my ear
Is my head splitting open or my life being ripped apart at seams?
Its being like stretched from both ends, Its like watching yourself chip away
Flecks of past are settling in the grooves of time, its like broken record repeating in crime
I am slowly sinking down this rabbit hole, not even trying to break this fall
Walls are closing in, space is being squeezed shut, there is no place to move, my heart is seizing up

I am looking for a miracle, I want to hear the call
Crash in to me, make me move, before time freezes everything in its place
Its only echo bouncing about, tell me what I am here for... I want to hear my call
I am staring up in the sky, wishing for a collision, for the deep impact
Crash into me, scream in my ear, I need to move before I bury myself here.

So just say my name, just tell me why I am here
Just make this call...

I am looking for you..

I need a place to rest my head,
A place to survive, to safely bleed
We are being pulled apart, planets betweens
Dreams apart, Oceans within and these messes it seems
You can let these rivers run wild, feeling the water escape your hold
Rushing through you, with you, anchoring you but we still sway
All I am for, what I was made for, this stateless state
I am here looking for you...

The sand is moving right beneath my feet, it will not hold, it will bury me deep
Restless is even the ground, maybe it will offer me the refuge I seek
We already aren't making out alive, so what the rush darling, maybe this is home
Still searching for my place, for our shore, for our reach
We are ruining our options, we are running out of time
And still I am here, grounding my feet, dragging my heels, just hold for one more moment
I am still here looking for you..

Violin Fever

I recently got bitten with the violin bug when I heard Tuesday's Gone by Lynard Skynard a concert version of violin and piano rock arrangement :D - started you tubing and fishing for these electric violin, rock violin, hip hop violin artists and making a music list of it. I didn't touch orchestra violin music because they are so classy they deserve a different post altogether. These are few artists n songs I found of rock/hip hop violin music composing or composing old songs with their unique touch. They are pretty damn awesome. (Do try to go down the list and then decide)

#5. Vanessa Mae - Storm

#4 Paul Dateh - Celtic Blues (This is my ringtone lately :D)

#3. David Garrett - Smells Like Teenage Spirit

#2. Josh Vetti - Hip Hop Medley

#1. Paul Dateh and Inka One - Hip Hop Violin

Underrated Songs (Mellow/Indie Rock/Pop Rock)

I thought I finally needed to write a piece on for music .. the blog is clearly called jukebox where as I have been venting issues here. Anyway... so I decided to make a small list of mellow indie pop rock songs I think are very underrated (thanks to Bieber mania).

#5. Zack Berkman - All That I Know

#4. Michael Castro - The First Time

#3. The Afters - Beautiful Love

#2. Ben's Brother - Beauty Queen

#1 Annasay - Winter Air

Num's Observations: Trust

It fun to headline a blog in a third person gives it a very uber pretencious/I-am-know-it-all vibe which is actually not cool but really cool when you are trying to appear as a self-help coach :D yes- HA-HA.

Anyway recently somebody pointed out to be that I observe a lot and most of my writings are genuine due to that. I never thought about it, I just write in a very rambling approach tripping on my own words as they come to my mind :D the more I focus the more it seems forced upon (Goodbye writing my book, I just can't move forward after my first chapter).

Anyway so I decided to write a little blog series of my Observations. Today I will talk about

Trust. Rule No.1 : Don't Trust BLINDLY!
Please in this world, No! No matter how naive and how plain simple minded person you are don't trust people blindly. I don't second guess my self, its a habit I have grown with - I do things instantly. Mostly they tend to backfire right into my face but I have an inner peace which tells me I have no regrets - this please doesn't mean you jump of a bridge and not second guessing your steps! I see the best in people or try to and trust them usually, not thinking about it. Its pretty wrong - people have to earn your trust.

Rule No. 2: Its a two-way street baby!
Don't go on rambling all your secrets to people who aren't willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Some people take time to open up, pace them out. Its two-way street... you have to meet somewhere in the middle.

Rule No.3: Trust your instincts!
Your instincts are never wrong, learn to trust them. I depend way too much on my instincts. It started from when my English Teacher in grade 3 start us with tenses and I was way confused - I used to depend on my 'it feels right'/'it sounds right' approach with it. Later I learned to apply that to my life. I do it if it feels right, if it doesn't I hold back. At the same times your instincts might be right about you but don't presume your instincts can predict future :D - they cannot. You decide to tell somebody you like them, you go with your gut feeling - they don't reciprocate it doesn't mean your instincts were wrong, it means your instincts helped you have no regrets. You decide to buy something pricy and in your head you are constantly calculating if its worth it or not. - Trust your instincts to know what YOU truly want - NOT what the universe wants from you - Whoa dats was deep :P

How to find friends and alienate losers

Anyway to start with the whole bookish start - who is a friend? What is the meaning of the word friend? How to know if somebody is a friend? Blah blah blah. I have had many friends since my play group times to school to college to university and all. I have made bests of friends and have lost many good friends. The idea of best friends for life is - amusing. I am not saying it doesn't happen. My Dad has a pretty tight group and they have been together for lifetime.

So how to find friends? - the simple answer would be by being truly yourself. If you make the mistake of pretending to be someone else then you attract the crowd who wants to hang out with the pretend you, not you. People with different interests make interesting friends, why? Because they introduce you to a whole new different scale of things, they bring you out of your comfort zone, be it loosely translating to sitting on a chin-chinchy ride home and yelling your lungs out :D People with same interests make gud friends for obvious reasons, you can have nonstop killer discussions on 'how the tv series should have ended' or tag them in music videos over n over again :D

Long time back when I was in phase of reading quotations from great authors and finding my own meaning which had nothing to do with the quotation at hand :D haha rush to adulthood, Anyway I came across a quotation which went something a true friend is the one with whom silence is comfortable. I didn't understand it then cause my friends were nothing but LOUD :D but I guess I understand it now..

How to alienate losers? Hmm.. this one is little tough. First and foremost you have to IDENTIFY these people. and how to identify? again pretty simple - once friendship becomes 'work' its pretty much done. Cut people off who bring you down,Selfish friendships are just plain emotionally abusive, they are anchors and you will sink down right with them. I used to be a people-pleaser and suffered a superman complex, am not proud of it. Its better to make good friends who will stick with you instead of great friends who will eventually bring you down. Its like its a two way street: I believe in You, You believe in me. You don't believe in me, then whats the point of this?

In all this everybody needs to understand that people change. Times becomes different. That doesn't mean that these people were never your friends. I know people who were greatest of my friends but times have changed. Now I am just civil to them but I respect the times I had with them. I also have friends who I don't talk to for months and years and just one phone call and we are instantly jolted into our own time. Recently my bestfriend had a baby girl, Mashallah. I talked to her last night and it hit me nothing has changed, she is still the same even though there is a baby in picture now.

Friendship is a very overrated concept, you become friends with people you like. People who like you back hang around and thus it continues so.

2011-2012 - New Possibilities :D

So 2011 was epic. It was. It was graduating year... Saying I did just few things is just pure insulting the thought even. 2011 was crazy!! Absolutely bonkers!! Last year of NED, Last year of Engineering so I guess I did all possible stuff. Bunking maximum of my classes, halwa puri with friends, twice went bowling hardly with 5 days of gap! So many ice cream hording trips, singing senselss songs on car drives, carbo load trips :D

It rained 14 hrs straight on my bday! :D it rained and rained and God it rained!! :D So I was stuck at home with dal chawal for my bday treat cause we couldn't even go out :D 2011 was the year of weddings frenzy in my family!! 20 days and 4 weddings :D

2011 was the year our family tree grew :D and official addition of four brother-in-laws and a bhabi :D and my youngest cousin was born :D (His name is Aaiz, but to call him chutti-munni or tun-tun or tun party is all the more fun) 2011 was the year of movies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so many trips to cinema, so many sequels! so many super power movies! 2011's last night was absolutely great :D and all-nighter with cousins, surrounded in blankets, gossips and nuts :D

Lessons learned in 2011: After everything is said and done, the bond of family is what makes us great :) Giving more, loving more, just putting an effort in being more makes you happy. Friendships become what you make of them. You can't hold on to people if they want to move on. Love comes naturally. Drifting apart comes with age. Listen to groovy music it makes you happy :D (Andy Grammar - Gotta Keep Your Head Up). Engineering is overrated :P. Movies are the best place to steal dialogs :P . Barney and Ted (How I met your mother) are classy role models. Books make good pillows some times. Zinger and parhata together makes an epic mouth watering treat; we call it cripsy roll :p. Bold Make-up is an intimidating tactic :D Irritate people all you want, make no excuse for who you are...it filters out the crowd and all the best of your friends hang back with you and deal with who you are :D Pineapple souffle is remedy to all life's problems.

2012 A fresh new start: Its scary to start the year with a degree in hands and no prospect of jobs and time soon :D but wait and effort is what keeping the unknown more enjoyable :D so what its going to be like? will I land the job of dreams? Will I fly out of the country? will i FINALLY get my nerves in order and write my book? :D

its a fresh new start...open to all and any kind of possibilities :D

POSSIBILITIES :D

New Year's Resolution: Make it Happen :D - and stop using so much emoticons in your blog woman!
